Beach

The Alentejo coast area is breath taking... It stretches from Lisbon in the north to the Algarve in the south. It’s not as known as the Algarve and therefore (luckily) not as touristy.

Romantic deserted beaches hidden away behind rocks or the long sandy beaches with hip beach-bars/restaurants, it’s all there.

Surf beaches, even enjoyable for non-surfers. It’s great to watch surfers trying to control the waves under their surfboard. Santo André has a lagoon that is used for windsurfing.

The Alentejo coast area is magnificent and protected. It will never have a coastline filled with hotels. For birdwatchers this is a true paradise, the lagoon of Santo André is a protected bird area.

Between Sétubal and Troia dolphins can be watched on special boat trips. For people who love sun & sea and also require peace and quiet the Alentejo coast is a true discovery.

Nautical Sports

Sails and sailors. Sea and wind. nautical sports on the Costa Azul. Horizons stretching from the Atlantic to the hills. Sea and land forming a border. The sail - conquering the sea. Different sails for different reasons - all in a true holiday spirit.

On the Costa Azul - the sea and the river.
The enourmous sea chich is called the Atlantic, the river with its colourful movement.
Inland, the four dams of Campilhas, Vale do Gaio, Fonte Cerne e Pego do Altar, are vast stretches of water.
The Albufeira and Santo André lakes, shimmer in a blue haze - offering plenty of space for all types of water sports.
Sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing, rowing, surfing, motor boats, diving and fishing are all wonderful pastimes on the Costa Azul.
Sailing clubs and underwater centres are all there to give the necessary help when required.
Trips may be taken on the Sado galleons and Tagus river craft, in true traditional fashion.
Sea trips - always full of promise, bright light and dolphins.
Sado dolphins - symbol of the sea and the Costa Azul.

The sea around the Costa Azul offer adventure and discovery - in all four seasons of the year.
The Atlantic offers sporting opportunities in thounsands of different ways.
